Christmas time festivities part 1

This year we didn't do gingerbread houses at Thanksgiving so we did your own at home. Thank goodness for the premade ones at IKEA. I think they turned out pretty cute.

For Rosalind's christmas recital at ballet the were sugarplumb fairies. The performance was at the studio, for any one that want to see it we do have video of it. For now I think her dreams of being a ballerina are done for, she didn't want to continue with the lessons.
Our wards christmas party was really fun. We had breakfast with Santa, really yummy breakfast burritos and cinnamon rolls(thanks to Emily and her elves.) We sang carols with Santa and he read us all a story and then everyone (who wanted to) was able to talk with Santa.
The school concert
It was so cute, again if you want to see the video we have it, luckly for us the 1st graders went twards the begining thus we didn't have to stay for the whole thing.

More Christmas to come in the next post!

Halloween fun 2009

This year the Rose wanted to be a vampire. Nana as usual made the costume, she did an awesome job! Here are a few pictures of her all dressed up. Joe did the make up, pretty scary!

the Barnyard Boo and Scarecrow festival at Thanksgiving point.
My favorite picture is the one with Rosalind pretending to be a zombie pirate.

Pumpkin carving and the ginger bread haunted house
Trick-or-treating and what not
We had so much fun going out the friends to trick-or-treat, at the ward party, and as always aunt Donna's Halloween festivities.

Mr&Mrs Bowcut

So Joe's niece Karie got married back in August, it was a nice day and it is always fun to spend time with the Liechtys. Gee if only the kids were cute. Best of luck to the Bowcuts, and welcome to the family Brandon!

The picture of the building I had to take, The sky was so blue. The only thing that would make it better was if the for sale sign in the window was gone.

Liechty Family Reunion 2009!

So this year we went somewhere up past Evanston. I can never remember the names of places. We left Friday evening a little bit later than I wanted to. Oh Well! That first night we camped on Joan and Paul's property where there cabin is, the land is amazing! Thanks to them for letting us use it. And then Saturday we moved down to the Uinta County youth campgrounds. Well I think that is what they are called. Anyway! We spent the day hanging out by the river, visiting with the cousins, eating way too much, and we had our family auction. Good day! Sunday was low key. We broke down camp so that when we wanted to go we could just get in the van and go. After packing up I got to take a real shower, they have actual bathrooms with tiled shower stalls! It was great. We did pot luck lunch and played games for awhile, then headed to the reservoir to paddle around in Brent and Beth's kayaks. Which was really fun, I think Rosalind could have stayed on the boat all day. We headed home after that. All and all it was another great reunion! Thanks to the Jenkins family! Looking forward to next year!

All of the kids!

Some of the local scenery.

Playing in and around the water!
And Joe! I like this photo! Joe says he looks like a mountain man!

And the there is Rose! I love the picture of her and uncle Brent in the kayak.

Oquirrh Mountian Temple open house

We just barely made time to go to the Oquirrh Temple open house last week! I wasn't thinking and scheduled us for a Wednesday evening, which is youth group night for many churches. So we where surrounded giggly girls, and lots of talking. It was packed! All of that was worth it though, just to give Rosalind another chance to see the inside of a Temple. Which she loved!

I wish the sun had been a little bit lower, and that my batteries hadn't been dying. Oh well its still a cute picture! Love my family!

Dutch oven enrichment!

This is the 2nd annual dutch oven dinner for our ward. It was a fun night, there were a lot more people there than last year. And the weather was perfect if only the sun went down a little sooner this time of year.

Rose and Lexi

Me getting artsy with the dutch ovens, I couldn't resist they were lined up so nicely. I think we hat 13 dutch oven dishes in total.

Rosalind was mad at me because I told her that she couldn't play until she ate something other that a cupcake!

we will miss Jeffery!

Elder Liechty is now on a mission! We will miss him, but we know that he will do a great job up there in Canada. He has a very kind heart and he will be good at expressing his love for the Gospel and all of the people he teaches.
Rosalind said, as we drove by their house the other day and started talking about Jeffery that we should stop talking about him because it made her sad that he was gone. Two years will go by faster than she thinks.

fun family pictures!

Big boys on the trampoline!

The fourth!

The fourth of July was nice! We went to a BBQ for Beth's birthday, which was fun. Lots of friends and family, there were four of us Kates. I kept think that my name was being called.
Oh how we love Beth and we are so glad that they live here now.

After the Barbecue we went over to our church building for the parking lot of fire! Basically everyone bring their own fire works and set them of and wait for it to get dark to watch the Lehi city fireworks. It is always fun to watch the men play with fire.

Cute Keri and Lia(our across the street neighbors)

cute girls!

Liechty cousins

Here are a few of the cousins. This was the first time that we have met Jessica, whom resides in Georgia (Jessica is the one in the bottom center)she was here for a band camp at BYU. They all look eerily similar, if only sam and Rosalind had their glasses on too. It was fun meeting Jessica and playing games with the family.
