My mom/Nana is here for the weekend along with Erika(my sister-in-law) and Brenna my niece. They mostly came to visit but it works out that it is the weekend of Rosalind's recital, Yay!

We didn't tell Rosalind that Nana was coming.

Rosalind Kathryn

With so many of our friends having new babies or babies on the way Ithought that I would post so pictures of tiny Rose. She was such a good baby, she went to everyone, I didn't have to hold her all the time, she slept through the night early on, and well she is so darn cute. Sometims I miss my little baby, but my big girl is so fun now.

The living Planet Aquarium

Last Thursday my friend from work(Val) and I decided that we should take Rosalind to the Aquarium exhibit in Sandy. The have moved from downtown SLC to 106th south 725 east. It is not a huge place, it is actually in an old grocery store but we had fun and Rosalind has asked every day when we are going back. So here are a few pictures that a took there.

I like him!

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!

The same day we started preschool, swim lessons started. School ends at 11:30 and swim started at 11:45 in the same building so it worked out really well for us. She is doing much better in the water and I am hoping to get her in at least one more session this summer.

as she would say "I was a little freaked out!"

Kicking, no she is not swimming here the pool is only one and a half feet deep there.

Dress rehearal

I had to work during Rosalind's dress rehearsal for her first ever dance recital. The ballet studio is putting on sleeping beauty. Well I had to run home long enough to do her hair and make-up. The official pictures were taken the same day. I had joe take the camera to report back to me. He said that it was better than he expected.

At home just after I finished getting her ready!
"princess chin!"

Rosalind's best ballet friend!

pretty girl

She always knows where they should be and what they should be doing. At least she thinks she does.

More pictures to come after Saturday's performance!

the Wild Outdoors

The diversity of events that we have at Thanksgiving Point just cracks me up sometime. Well two weeks ago the Wild outdoors festival/ Stihl timbersports competition occurred. In other words lumberjack games! As usual I didn't get to see much b/c we stayed super busy. I did get Rosalind there for awhile before we had to get Joe from work. She did astonishingly well, she did have more fun things to do at this event than usual. Friday it was so windy that many people went home early. Dang windy Lehi!

This was probabally not the best place for Rosalind but she had many supervisors and it was very stable. She was watching me with the help of Jane use a two person saw! First time I have ever done that.

This would make uncle Paul very proud! She almost hit many different foam animals.
Isn't she beautiful! Can you believe that Benjamin Franklin wanted our national bird to be a turkey after seeing her!

I think this is the first time I have shot a gun since the last time I shot a b.b. gun when I was 8 at YWCA day camp!

First day of summer preschool

Here is Rosalind on her first day of summer preschool. I couldn't find a preschool open when we moved here. I found out about this summer preschool for kids going to kindergarten this fall. So really it is a nice refresher for her before she starts school in august. She goes twice a week and the class is 2 hours long. She really seems to enjoy it!
To go along with education, Joe and Rosalind have started reading the Romona books by Beverly Cleary together. He is hoping to have her reading by the end of the summer.

She was so excited!

Death Cab

Last Monday which was Memorial Day I had to work at the Death Cab 4 Cutie concert. I do like the band to I was looking forward to it, and over all it was a fun night.
People started lining up early in the day and if you remember it was raining most of the day on Monday so by the time I go there at about 4:15 they were pretty grumpy and wet. Also b/c of the rain the production crew was running way behind! Now we can't open the gates until we get the OK from the production crew, so again the crowd was mad at us even though we have very little control over when the gates open. Other than that it went pretty smoothly, and it stopped raining about the time the gates opened. Yay! It was a fun night!
