Just some randomness

So here is one of many Rosalind self portraits!

Here we are after our flu shots, I am glad that the pediatrician does a flu shot clinic for all family members. We killed three birds with one stone that night.

CANNING!
So this year was my first adventure into canning. It was not as hard as I thought it would be, perhaps that is because of my friends Ariana and Amelia that I did it with. We also did peaches too, which are almost all gone now. We still have lots of pears, so next year I need to do more peaches and less pears.

This is the super cute sign I made at Enrichment craft night. I love how crafty my friends are who come up with projects like this.
Thanks Tina!

First day of school 2009!

First day of 1st grade!
Rosalind was so excited to be starting first grade, as was I. We woke up early and made blueberry muffins, and then went out side for a little photo shoot. What a cute girl, she even let me do her hair. It is hard to believe that she is that old already.

Oh and this year has been great!

Mr&Mrs Bowcut

So Joe's niece Karie got married back in August, it was a nice day and it is always fun to spend time with the Liechtys. Gee if only the kids were cute. Best of luck to the Bowcuts, and welcome to the family Brandon!

The picture of the building I had to take, The sky was so blue. The only thing that would make it better was if the for sale sign in the window was gone.

the last week of summer swim lessons

So here is the last week of swimming lessons for the summer! Wow! The summer went by fast. So now she is a real swimmer, we just have to go swimming other places during the school year so she will remember how. We went swimming with a friend last week and Rosalind swam across the deep end many times on her own, and went off the diving board as well!
YEAH! MISS ROSALIND THE SWIMMER!

Liechty Family Reunion 2009!

So this year we went somewhere up past Evanston. I can never remember the names of places. We left Friday evening a little bit later than I wanted to. Oh Well! That first night we camped on Joan and Paul's property where there cabin is, the land is amazing! Thanks to them for letting us use it. And then Saturday we moved down to the Uinta County youth campgrounds. Well I think that is what they are called. Anyway! We spent the day hanging out by the river, visiting with the cousins, eating way too much, and we had our family auction. Good day! Sunday was low key. We broke down camp so that when we wanted to go we could just get in the van and go. After packing up I got to take a real shower, they have actual bathrooms with tiled shower stalls! It was great. We did pot luck lunch and played games for awhile, then headed to the reservoir to paddle around in Brent and Beth's kayaks. Which was really fun, I think Rosalind could have stayed on the boat all day. We headed home after that. All and all it was another great reunion! Thanks to the Jenkins family! Looking forward to next year!

All of the kids!

Some of the local scenery.

Playing in and around the water!
And Joe! I like this photo! Joe says he looks like a mountain man!

And the there is Rose! I love the picture of her and uncle Brent in the kayak.

Shouldn't these be everywhere?

As we drove out to the family reunion in WY we came across these windmills. Now for as much wind that blows around here in Utah and in Wyoming don't you think we should see a lot more of these! Think about it! Plus they are kind of pretty!

Oquirrh Mountian Temple open house

We just barely made time to go to the Oquirrh Temple open house last week! I wasn't thinking and scheduled us for a Wednesday evening, which is youth group night for many churches. So we where surrounded giggly girls, and lots of talking. It was packed! All of that was worth it though, just to give Rosalind another chance to see the inside of a Temple. Which she loved!

I wish the sun had been a little bit lower, and that my batteries hadn't been dying. Oh well its still a cute picture! Love my family!

Dutch oven enrichment!

This is the 2nd annual dutch oven dinner for our ward. It was a fun night, there were a lot more people there than last year. And the weather was perfect if only the sun went down a little sooner this time of year.

Rose and Lexi

Me getting artsy with the dutch ovens, I couldn't resist they were lined up so nicely. I think we hat 13 dutch oven dishes in total.

Rosalind was mad at me because I told her that she couldn't play until she ate something other that a cupcake!

hair today gone tomorrow!

I have been growing out my hair for locks of love, and am tired of it so before we go camping this weekend I had it cut!

Before!
Rosalind took this picture so it is not the most flattering angle.

I forget how red my hair really is. That is 10 inches of hair people!

After!
I like it and it is so much cooler!

we will miss Jeffery!

Elder Liechty is now on a mission! We will miss him, but we know that he will do a great job up there in Canada. He has a very kind heart and he will be good at expressing his love for the Gospel and all of the people he teaches.
Rosalind said, as we drove by their house the other day and started talking about Jeffery that we should stop talking about him because it made her sad that he was gone. Two years will go by faster than she thinks.

fun family pictures!

Big boys on the trampoline!

The fourth!

The fourth of July was nice! We went to a BBQ for Beth's birthday, which was fun. Lots of friends and family, there were four of us Kates. I kept think that my name was being called.
Oh how we love Beth and we are so glad that they live here now.

After the Barbecue we went over to our church building for the parking lot of fire! Basically everyone bring their own fire works and set them of and wait for it to get dark to watch the Lehi city fireworks. It is always fun to watch the men play with fire.

Cute Keri and Lia(our across the street neighbors)

Adventures with Amanda!

So my best friend Amanda came to town earlier this month and she graced the Liechty's with almost a full day of fun filled Amanda activities. She moved to Texas so we only see her about twice a year. So I asked Rosalind where she wanted to go eat and as usual she wanted to go to the Mayan, which I must say is fun but way overpriced! But she loves the diving so we went. Plus Amanda and I planned to go to a movie after so it worked out well logistically. So here are some pictures from the day.

So Amanda's drink had the ice packed in it so tight that when she drank it it didn't fall. Well at least we thought it was funny, or at least cool.

After lunch Joe and Rosalind headed home and to buy fireworks for the next days festivities. Amanda and I went to see My Sisters Keeper, which was good but we cried almost the whole way through it is a sad but funny movie. Then we ran around doing Utah errands, i.e. Deseret Book, and church distribution, and so on. It was great to see "Mana" and actually spend time with her, we all miss her I think Joe does to sometimes.
